About
A quiet place that asks nothing of you
Daily Zen is a free guided meditation app for people who want to sit down for a few minutes and breathe. It offers short sessions for sleep, focus, stress and slow breathing, each one read aloud in a calm voice while a soft breathing orb keeps time. There is also a small companion called Puff who keeps you company in the header, a daily quote, and a streak that counts the days you came back.
It is built for the person who has downloaded three meditation apps and opened none of them twice. Sessions are five to twenty minutes, there is no onboarding questionnaire, and you never have to create an account to begin. If you have a minute before a meeting, a restless hour at two in the morning, or a bad day you would rather not carry into the evening, there is a session that fits.
Daily Zen is made by a small independent studio rather than a company with growth targets. The sessions are written by hand, the scripts are read by your browser's own voice so nothing needs to be downloaded, and the whole thing is designed to be used for a minute at a time. We would rather build one calm thing well than another app that competes for your attention.
What we hold to
Free, and staying that way
No subscription, no trial, no locked sessions. You can use every session in the library without paying.
One quiet thing at a time
No badges to chase, no leaderboards, no notifications nudging you to come back. The streak is there if you want it, and it never scolds you.
Nothing to download
Sessions run in your browser. A phone, a pair of headphones and a minute of privacy is the whole setup.
